Ann Lefebvre is an associate director for the NC AHEC Program and oversees statewide quality improvement efforts. Included in her responsibilities is the function of director of the NC AHEC Practice Support, leading all statewide, practice-based quality improvement efforts under the NC AHEC Program. In this role, Lefebvre has worked to develop a practice facilitation program to help community-based primary care practitioners understand and improve their delivery of health care. Lefebvre also developed a program to train and support over 50 staff to perform as consultants in over 1100 primary care practices across the state. These staff use proven quality improvement methods and techniques to provide on-site coaching in the adoption and use of technology to improve the overall population health by improving the delivery systems in the primary care setting. Additionally, Lefebvre has a faculty appointment in the Department of Family Medicine at UNC-Chapel Hill. For more than a decade, Lefebvre has been working in a variety of ambulatory care settings to help health care providers and their staff use technology and quality improvement techniques to improve clinical outcomes as well as patient and staff satisfaction.
Lefebvre received a BA in speech and language pathology from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh and a Master of Social Work from East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. She is a certified professional of health care quality and has been working in a variety of health care settings since 1991.
