Associated Clinical Centers
We have four health centers supporting our residency programs. The MAHEC Family Health Centers in Asheville and Fairview and the Hendersonville Family Health Center each provide an ideal blend of community warmth with university hospital-type medical education resources. The curriculum is offered both in ambulatory and hospital settings with access to state-of-the-art technology. The MAHEC Ob/Gyn Specialists office is the hub for a 16 county area and focuses on high risk pregnancies. Midwives participate in patient care as well as teaching centering pregnancy to residents. Residents are trained by specialists in MFM, REI, URO-GYN, and Oncolgy. Training includes robotic surgery and minimally invasive surgery. MAHEC’s Geriatric Fellowship Program centers on community care and acute care and is a one year program.
