These individuals may also present with a range of co-occurring psychiatric symptoms.  The complexity of the unique learning characteristics of autistic individuals presents a challenge to professionals when applying traditional therapeutic techniques such as cognitive behavior therapy (CBT).  Despite these challenges, there is a growing body of evidence to support the use of CBT for autistic individuals, particularly when individuals learning differences are considered, and strategies are tailored accordingly.  Participants will gain a better understanding of the specific learning style of autistic individuals, leading to better treatment outcomes.
