As patient populations become increasingly diverse and medically complex, dental professionals must possess the knowledge and clinical skills necessary to administer minimal sedation safely while maintaining high standards of patient care.\r\n\r\nThis comprehensive certification course provides the education and clinical training required for the safe administration and monitoring of nitrous oxide\/oxygen inhalation sedation in accordance with North Carolina regulations and accepted standards of dental practice. Participants will review the pharmacology and physiology of nitrous oxide, patient assessment and case selection, contraindications, equipment safety, monitoring techniques, infection prevention, documentation requirements, management of complications, and emergency response protocols. Through didactic instruction and hands-on clinical training, participants will develop the competence and confidence necessary to safely incorporate nitrous oxide sedation into everyday dental practice.\r\n<p style=\"font-size:75%; background-color:red; color:white;\"> Substitutes\/Refunds\/Transfers <\/p><p style=\"font-size:75%;\"> - Cancellations must be in writing (fax, email, or mail) <br> - Registrants cancelling between two weeks and two full business days prior to the first day of the event are refunded at 70% of the registration fee subject to a minimum $25 cancellation fee. <br> - No refunds or credits will be given for cancellations received less than two full business days prior to the event. <br> - Cancellations greater than 2 weeks prior to the event will receive 100% refund. <br> - No vouchers will be issued in lieu of a refund. <br> - Transfers\/substitute(s) welcome at discretion of Program Director. <br> - Attendance at this activity grants permission for Southern Regional AHEC to use any photographs, audio, video, or other images from this activity for promotional or educational purposes.
