With this issue of the AHEC Review, the NC AHEC Program is proud to announce the launch of our new logo, branding, and website. We have been working with the Chapel Hill-based Rivers Agency for more than a year and have made the integration of NC AHEC’s new strategic initiatives central to this new look and feel.

mobileFor our new website, we had the following nine goals:

  1. easy to navigate
  2. educational (who we are and who we serve)
  3. accessible – (brought up to current standards for accessibility)
  4. services-based (what we offer)
  5. vibrant and engaging
  6. interactive
  7. responsive (a rich user experience across all devices – see mobile screen captures at right)
  8. consistent
  9. universal (setting the standard with our new logo and branding)

mobile_navWe invite you to explore the new website. It features our new “black bar” navigation across the top that takes you directly to the services offered by our MyAHEC portal. Our main navigation aligns with our core services: Health Careers; Student Services; Graduate Medical Education Support; Continuing Professional Development; Practice Support; and Library Services. The “About AHEC” button takes you to information and news. The “Resources For” button is health discipline specific for allied health; dentistry; medicine; mental health; nursing; pharmacy; public health; community; and interprofessonal. The “AHEC Locations” button takes you to an interactive map of the state with information and navigations to each of the nine AHEC regions and the Duke AHEC Program. The rest of the homepage features news items, individual stories, and more.

The launch of our new website also signals the launch of the NC AHEC Facebook and Twitter accounts. Please friend and follow us to see all the news, photos, and information shared daily!
