Eastern AHEC’s building has won a state architecture award. The East Group of Greenville, North Carolina, received a 2019 Commercial Merit Award for the Eastern Section of the North Carolina Chapter of the American Institute of Architects for their design of the Eastern AHEC building.

The three-story, 36,400-square-foot Eastern AHEC building helps healthcare professionals relax and recharge with restful views and natural light in concert with open plan design. The building was completed in fall 2016 using Eastern AHEC funds (no state money went to construction).

The submission was juried by other architects and designers throughout the state and led by Steve Shuster, AIA, who presented the awards.
