The North Carolina Health Education Centers (NC AHEC) Program has partnered with the North Carolina Health Information Exchange Authority (NC HIEA) to deliver virtual and on-site training programs to educate providers about the features available in NC HealthConnex, the state-designated health information exchange.

NC HealthConnex facilitates conversations between health care providers by allowing them to access and share health-related information statewide. The secure, electronic network permits participants to view patients’ comprehensive records across multiple providers and review labs, diagnostics, medications, and more to help eliminate duplicative testing and make more efficient and accurate diagnoses. The platform enables participants to more effectively manage population health and clinical outcomes and improve coordination across all levels of care.

“We are excited about the opportunities that NC HealthConnex presents to practices and health systems across the state,” shared Chris Weathington, Director of Practice Support at the NC AHEC Program Office. “We’re honored to partner with NC HIEA to serve as an educational and practice support resource to health care providers.”
